Updates

I am usually not this bad at keeping things updated. But, I knew that there were changes in Blogger and I didn't want to deal with them! LOL!

After some expensive tests, there is still no diagnosis as to what the problem with my eye is - just that it isn't serious. So, I guess I can live with that. Other people and things in my life have had problems and I have been trying to help deal with those.

I hope that everyone had a marvelous Christmas (or holiday of your choice) and will enjoy a very happy and safe New Year! One of my resolutions is to post on a regular (and more frequent) basis.

Update on the eye issue

I know! I know! I have been missing. Still having problems with my eye. I went back to see another doctor (same clinic) and he has a different idea of what is wrong. More onitment and some antibotics. If those don't clear the swelling of my eye lid up, I will have to have blood work and xrays. Ouch! My pocket book is screaming already! LOL

I do need to find out what is going on. I have been having pain and discomfort in that eye and lots more headaches. So, if you are someone who believes in prayer, please remember me!

UhOh! Goofs galore!

Fooey! I hate it when I goof! I had to go to the eye doctor yesterday as I have been having a little difficulty with my right eye. Discovered that I have infected glands along the eye lid. It was an expensive visit as I have no insurance to help defray the cost. So, I decided to have a little "Help Me Pay My Eye Doctor Bill Sale". (You can see the details here - Miz Mara's Boutique). I sent out an ad this morning and just as I hit "send", realized that I had the wrong url listed! Aargh!

WooHoo! 2 days off from my "real" job!

I am taking a couple of days off from my "real" job. It's difficult for me to get the schedule situated to where I can take off! I am the only full time secretary in the office and the only one with no children at home (just a very whiney cat! LOL). So, that makes me the "go to" gal! If there is something to be done, it's given to me to do it. And, I am exhausted! Plus, I am working to get all of the different businesses I rep for up and running well. I hope to someday be able to make a living from home.

Anyway, I hope to take lots of naps these two days! The cat will love that!

What's Been Happening?

I really did not intend to go so long between posts! I really didn't! I promise I didn't! Then....my Cookie Gift Boutique site disappeared! Wah! All that work! But, I guess, that's what I get for using a free site that I really knew nothing about. The shopping cart was up and populated with a store full of items when I purchased what I now know was just the name. A valuable lesson learned - do your research before you buy! Anyhoo, the site disappeared along with all of the work I had put into it. (Another lesson - make backups!) I simply do not have the time or energy to rebuild. I have a shopping cart - estore site set up and it is one that I trust. They also have an auction side. I am going to put the domain names - there are two - .com and .net - up for sale along with a banner and a button for Cookie Gift Boutique. Interested? And, OOPS AGAIN!

Man! How time flies when you are having fun! I didn't realize it had been so long since I had posted. But, I will do better this afternoon! I promise!

but, you know, I did tell you that I had a new site. And, for me, a new site is like a new toy! Gotta play with it! LOL! Actually, I spent most of Labor Day working on changing over some things on the site to my information. And, I had to do that on EVERY PAGE! I got it done, but not with out some pain! I got a big cramp in my shoulder.

Now, I need to go back thru the site and add a banner to each page. I had someone purchase ad space for a year on each page of the site. I can't complain about that one!

Have I lost my mind?

I seriously question my state of mind! I just purchased another website! This one is an advertising and information site. Stay tuned for the full details once we get the transfer done and I am up and running!

I don't really think I am going nuts! The opportunity presented itself for me to purchase the site and I am looking for ways to increase my income potential. My dream is to retire some day and run my online businesses full time.

WAH!!! Where did my favorite seller go???

I hadn't been on eBay in a while. I had decided to concentrate more on my Cookie website - Cookie Gift Boutique (can't resist getting a plug in! LOL) and wasn't listing anything. It had reached the point where I wasn't making much with the items I was listing. Apparently that must be the case with a lot of folks I used to buy from! I had one that I always bought bubble envelopes from. One that I used to buy clothes from - (see, I like to be just a little different - nothing major - just find clothes that no one else HERE has). And, there was the guy that I used to find a few items in his store that I could resell. They are all GONE! Poof! I was limited on time, so I didn't do an extensive search. But, man! The fact that 3 of my faves are gone doesn't bode well for the site! The big site did say they wanted to change their direction. I am just not sure that this is the direction they were aiming for. LOL!

Chasing Rabbits!

That is what I feel like I have been doing for the past week! I really, really intended to post more frequently than I have! I have been trying to get my two web stores to where I want them to be. I wanted to add some different cookies and a selection of cookie jars to Cookie Gift Boutique and needed to add more items and work on the shipping module of Miz Mara's Boutique. I still have some work to do on the shipping module. I need to call USPS to activate the module in Miz Mara's Boutique. I took a few days off from the vendor fair events, but will get back to them in a big way starting this next week. I think I have two scheduled for next week. And, will probably try to do at least two a week for a while. The kids are back in school (not mine - just kiddoes in general) and it's time to start advertising for the upcoming holidays - Halloween - Thanksgiving - Christmas and all the others!

It is almost Fall, isn't it?

If it is, it doesn't feel like it! LOL! The expected high today is 99 with a heat index of 110! Not exactly Fall-like yet. But, the kiddoes are going back to school. My granddaughter started last week and the kiddoes here where I live start next week.

Life will pick up the pace! School events and activities will soon be in full swing. OOPS!

I didn't realize that I haven't posted this week! I guess that yard sale really took it out of me! LOL!

Actually, I have been spending every spare moment listing what was left overt from the yard sale (and, yes, I had lots left over!) in Miz Mara's Boutique. And, I have actually made progress! Now I am down to the items that I need to take pictures of. To do that, tho, I need to clear some space on the table!

I have also been adding a few cookies to Cookie Gift Boutique. I added some Halloween cookies and some for Grandparents Day (September 10th). I will be adding a few more and some for Stepfamily Day (September 16th). Be sure to go by and check it out! The Grandopening Sale is going on until September 1st.

ACK!!!

Ack!! I feel like Bill the Cat! I am tired! I got up this morning at 4:30 am to move all of the "stuff" outside to the car port for the yard sale. Blech! It was hot and sticky!

We decided to shut it down about 10:30. We had a few shoppers, but most here in our part of the world are early birds! They get out to get the very BEST bargains. We didn't have a lot of shoppers. Maybe because it is so close to back to school time and the parents are thinking more along the lines of school supplies and clothes instead of those fab bargains at the yard sales!

We did sell a few items. And, now I know what I have to put into Miz Mara's Boutique. I have a few items there already, but now I can REALLY start listing. LOL!

Where did the weekend go?

Wow! The weekend went by pretty quickly! I had hoped to get more done on my part for the upcoming yard sale, but it just didn't happen. We are having a yard sale on Saturday. I have been waiting until after the yard sale to fully stock Miz Mara's Boutique because I am hoping to sell off some of the excess inventory. I think Mom has just about all of her things priced and ready to go. But, not me! LOL!

This week will be extra stressful in the office. I have to get the financials and the budget for next year ready to go for Sunday. We are having a business meeting. I think I have delegated out some jobs that I usually do this week to others - the youth intern is going to help me with the food pantry. While I sign the folks in, he will go get their sack of groceries. And, another co-worker will probably run a couple of my usual errands for me. I just need to ask!

All in all, I am trying to remember that God is in control! I tend to stress over things that I shouldn't. This week, I am trying to lay it down at His feet. And, leave it there!

Tonight will be spent multitasking again. The next issue of Mara's Ads Vendor Fair Alerts should go out late tonight and I still have a few changes and updates to do!

I really intended to get the majority of the updates done on Saturday, but was feeling punky. My back was bothering me in addition to a scratchy throat and sneezing! I felt some better yesterday, but still just not quite up to speed.

I had also intended to get my new store site started and I did, but just barely! LOL! I got registered! Now I need to go in and start making the site mine. And, that took more concentration then I was able to muster on Saturday! LOL!

Is it warm enough for ya?

That is a standard old Southern greeting. And, yes, it is warm enough, too warm! It reached 103 yesterday. The record was 105 in 1974. Today it is supposed to get up to 102. Makes ya want to just stay in under the fan! LOL!

Multi-tasking!

How are your multi-tasking skills? I seem to try to do it all the time. For example, I use FireFox for my browser. I LOVE the tabs! I can be on several different sites at the same time! Checking my email in one and taking notes in BackPack in another!

Last night I was trying to do a different type of multitasking. I was putting the finishing touches on this week's ezine and trying to watch the latest installment of Treasurer Hunters ! I don't why I get hooked on that type of "reality" show, but it's fun to watch!

Tonight will be spent getting ready for a vendor fair on Wednesday night. I need to re-do some of my notes. In between the changes, I will probably be putting new items in Miz Maras Boutique or getting ready for a yard sale that we will be having the first Saturday in August! Busy, busy, busy!

Well, gotta run and get ready for work! Stay cool!

I have decided to set up my own little shop - Miz Mara's Boutique. I found an auction site that allows free stores - so with a few key strokes - voila! Miz Mara's Boutique was set up. Now, that doesn't mean that I will stop listing on eBay, but I will stop listing on another site that charges way too much in final value fees for the exposure (or lack there of) that I get. I will continue on Yahoo auctions and on WagglePop, but will try to have the complete line of whatever I am selling at the moment listed for your purchasing pleasure in Miz Mara's Boutique! Prayer Request

This comes from a co-worker - Her daughter and son in law are missionaries in the Philippines. I am sure she would appreciate your prayers as well.

"I'd appreciate all of Antioch's prayer warriors remembering to pray for our kids in the Philippines. They live in Legaspi City, which is beneath Mt. Mayon, a volcano which has begun to erupt. They are at Level 3 (of 5 levels) Alert and have not been told to evacuate yet. They are several miles from the volcano, maybe 10-20, but the danger depends on the force of the eruptions to come. God has certainly protected them over and over again. I'm just asking Him to do it again. Thanks for your prayers in their behalf.
